Weekly Digest August 23-29
Today we are in love connection with Turnstile, glad to have heavy-metal-doom by Spirit Adrift, and Hooded Menace will doom you to death, too, some punk rock by Chubby And The Gang and Teenage Bottlerocket, action rock by The Bronx and Danko Jones and a couple of TV albums in our Weekly Digest.
The Bronx — Bronx VI
Action Rock band from Los Angeles, The Bronx are well known among the fans of bands such as The Hellacopters or Turbonegro. Their high-energy songs, featuring cool guitar solos, tambourine and powerful rock delivery, are just what you need to be filled with electricity and to feel like you are on top of the world.

Chubby And The Gang — The Mutt’s Nuts
West London five-piece Chubby and the Gang are balanced by two energies – the casual "f*ck it" on one side and the active "f*ck off" on the other.

Danko Jones — Power Trio
And some more action rock. The Canadians Danko Jones mix punk and hard rock and are famous for their energetic live performances. I really like their 2017 album "Wild Cat" and I'm always happy to add their songs to the playlists, because such charged and easy-to-listen-to music is the best for parties, long trips, doing sports and in general for almost everything that needs to speed up the blood.

Hooded Menace — The Tritonus Bell
The Finns Hooded Menace are currently one of the frontrunners of the slow and devastating death metal. With the immaculate songwriting skills and the perfect balance between harsh death metal fueled outbursts and exquisite melodic melancholy, Hooded Menace unleash skeletal horror and somber despair with "The Tritonus Bell'! They also threw in more classic 80´s Heavy Metal influences, such as King Diamond and Mercyful Fate, resulting to the most up tempo (but never fast) Hooded Menace album with the catchiest song material to date!

Kat Von D — Love Made Me Do It
Katherine von Drachenberg, or Kat Von D, is an American tattoo artist, model, businesswoman and, more recently, a musician. Best known for her work as a tattoo artist in the reality show LA Ink, she is also known for being the former head of the cosmetics company Kat Von D Beauty (renamed KVD Vegan Beauty). On her first full-length Kat Von D prepared some idm / synthpop about love. Check it out.
Mouse Rat — The Awesome Album
Mouse Rat, the fictional "Parks and Recreation" band led by Chris Pratt’s character Andy Dwyer, will release a real-life record, titled "The Awesome Album." The album, announced on the 10th anniversary of show’s memorial for the miniature horse Li’l Sebastian’s, opens with the series’ famous singalong "5,000 Candles in the Wind (Bye Bye Li’l Sebastian)" and features many of the other fake songs performed or mentioned in "Parks and Recreation".

Spirit Adrift — Forge Your Future
The three-song EP "Forge Your Future", a follower of last year's great album "Enlightened In Eternity", gives listeners a powerful and charged heavy metal. Teenage Bottlerocket — Nice Sesh!
One of the best, in my opinion, ramones-core bands Teenage Bottlerocket are back with their 9th studio album "Nice Sesh!". As always, in the leather jacket and converse boots, with humor and canonical design of the album (this time in the orange color of the road cone) Teenage Bottlerocket prepared an expectedly pleasant release.

Turnstile — Glow On
Three years have passed since the release of the incredible album "Time & Space" which changed the face of hardcore. Turnstile combines positive vibes, playful melodies and heavy hardcore reefs, immediately gaining respect among both hardcore and more mainstream audiences. Their EP "Turnstile Love Connection", which was released in late June 2021, accompanied by a video of the same name on all four tracks of the EP, was a surprise and a party for all their fans. After that, Turnstile announced the release of a full-length album using a billboard in their hometown Barlimore. And finally, Roadrunner Records released an LP of 15 tracks, 4 of which we have already heard on "Turnstile Love Connection". Also, two other tracks have Dev Hynes joined, better known as Blood Orange – British singer, songwriter and producer who has played or written for FKA twigs, Florence and the Machine, The Chemical Brothers, Kylie Minogue, A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller, Blondie, Harry Styles, Jazmine Sullivan, Mariah Carey, and others. And this company is to deliver absolutely fantastic tracks! "Glow On" is a great album that is easy and fun to listen to and it makes you want to come back to it again and again. Definitely in the top albums of the year.

Wormwitch — Wolf Hex
The Canadians Wormwitch play atmospheric melodic black metal that is also influenced by the first, more thrashy, wave of black metal, as well as by crust-punk. Well-produced and beautifully decorated (minimalist cover without an embedded logo is a very good solution), a very high-quality release.
