Weekly Digest October 18-24
October 22 is a great day for music fans, it was very difficult to choose only 10 releases for this edition of the Weekly Digest, so you will need to google a new Dream Theater’s LP for yourself. In our selection you will find Angel Du$t, Cradle Of Filth, Every Time I Die, OSDM by Massacre and death doom by Worm, great heavy metal albums by Shadowland and Seven Sisters, Knife with sharp metal punk, psychedelic blues rock Dooms Children by Wade MacNeil (Alexisonfire / Gallows) and "Slamming Gore Groove" by Waking The Cadaver. Also, do not forget to check out the new album of 1914, it is not in the digest, but Neformat will definitely write about it.
Angel Du$t — YAK: A Collection of Truck Songs
Angel Du$t is a supergroup from Baltimore formed by members of Turnstile and Trapped Under Ice, but if you've been paying attention to the hardcore punk scene for the last 8 years, you already know it. Their 2019 album "Pretty Buff" was in the Kerrang and Loudwire top lists, their mix of pop punk, soft rock and indie pop cannot be confused with anyone else’s. "YAK: A Collection of Truck Songs" is a very pleasant and bright "good times" album, which will perfectly dispel autumn sadness.

Cradle Of Filth — Existence Is Futile
On their new album, the sympho-goths Cradle Of Filth, as always, sound majestic, grand, over the top. Fans of the band's early work will not be disappointed, the album resembles the twenty years ago Cradle Of Filth in some places, except now it’s with the modern, more expensive and high-quality production.

Dooms Children — Dooms Children
Wade MacNeil, known as a guitarist of Alexisonfire and a vocalist of Gallows, has released a very soulful psychedelic blues rock album in the spirit of Grateful Dead and Blue Cheer. Trippy and profound, "Dooms Children" sounds like a catharsis, because, according to Wade himself, it was written during the life of a 37-year-old Canadian musician falling apart, so it’s an album of him trying to pick up the pieces. Despite the title and the circumstances, the album sounds life-affirming and paints a picture of the Phoenix, reborn from the dust.

Every Time I Die — Radical
Five years after their latest release, twice as long as their fans used to expect, coolest guys from Buffalo, NY, Every Time I Die are back, kicking the door wide open. Fans were super excited waiting for the album, and it’s no wonder as every single here is a banger. With the album "Radical" ETID clearly showed thousands of mediocre metalcore bands who’s their Daddy.

Knife – Knife
Dirty black speed punk from Germany by connoisseurs of cold steel, speed, and cold beer. Metal party as it should be. I also want to highlight the band's logo, which is very nicely inscribed with a knife, so that no one has any doubts what Knife is about.

Massacre — Resurgence
The Floridian death metal band Massacre demonstrates how real OSDM sounds like, with the references to Lovecraft's horror for an extra touch.

Seven Sisters — Shadow Of A Falling Star Pt. 1
The young British epic heavy metal band Seven Sisters is releasing their third album in discography and, judging by "Pt.1" in the title, the first in a new cycle. If you like majestic guitars, mythology, and songs about battle glory, don't miss this band!
Shadowland — The Necromancer's Castle
And continuing the theme of heavy metal, Shadowland from New York is a female fronted heavy metal for fans of Judas Priest and Manilla Road. It becomes apparent after the first look at the album cover, done, by the way, by band's vocalist Tanya Finder. Shadowland's debut full-length album "The Necromancer’s Castle" features eight strange and fantastic tales, told to the sounds of old-school heavy metal and released by one of the most authoritative labels for the new wave of traditional heavy metal, Greek "No Remorse Records".
Waking The Cadaver — Authority Through Intimidation
Guitarist Mike Mayo commented on the new album: "Our mission statement for writing it was SLAMMING GORE GROOVE. That’s been our slogan since the beginning, and I think this collection of songs exemplifies its meaning more than any of our previous albums. Listeners will be able to hear our love for bands like Dying Fetus, Last Days of Humanity and Disgorge, as well as our love for early Hatebreed and All Out War."

Worm — Foreverglade
And another Florida based death metal band, not OSDM this time, but death doom, also with synths and black metal elements, which greatly enhances the gloom and confusion provoked by listening to this album. Slow, strong, and heavy. As for me personally, Worm will claim the top death doom release of the year along with Hooded Menace.
